Carter Jonas provided development advice to Swansea Council to help it achieve its objective of delivering a flagship workspace project to redefine part of the city centre and attract tenants not currently present in the city centre.
The Council acquired a former nightclub on the Kingsway, a key street in Swansea which had previously been a successful leisure destination but was suffering from high levels of vacancies.
Carter Jonas advised on the rationale for the acquisition and consequent redevelopment of the site and supported the Council through the construction and letting phases to its completion in May 2025, including a cashflow for the operational phase of the building.
The building has achieved high sustainability credentials including BREEAM 'Excellent, EPC 'A', and Net Zero in operation and it will accommodate tenants active in the tech sector and a flexible workspace operator, employing 600 people collectively, delivering a specification of workspace not previously available in Swansea.
