Carter Jonas’ planning team managed Powerleague’s portfolio of sites nationally between 2021 and 2026, providing strategic planning consultancy advice and leading on the preparation of planning appraisals, requests for pre-application advice, the submission of planning applications and the subsequent discharge of planning conditions.

Carter Jonas also led on appointing and managing teams of technical consultants. Advice provided has included in respect of both existing and new sites, where upgraded new small-sided artificial grass playing pitches and Padel Tennis facilities were sought and have been delivered, together with ancillary club house, car and cycle parking facilities.

Carter Jonas advised on issues relating to sites located within the Green Belt, Metropolitan Open Land, and sites proposed at educational facilities, including secondary schools and colleges. Carter Jonas engaged with Sport England where sites were located on existing playing fields and successfully overcome and addressed comments raised both in advance of the submission of applications and during their assessment.
