Updated 22/07/2025

We are excited to bring you the latest updates from Carter Jonas.

The past few months have involved lots of networking, business growth, and team expansion, as well as celebrating the remarkable people within our firm.

In May, over 30 of our team members attended the national property conference UKREiiF in Leeds, which has become a significant event in the UK real estate community. During the conference, we made substantial progress towards our growth objectives, forging valuable connections and enhancing our brand within the industry.

Additionally, we have welcomed several senior industry experts to our Infrastructure team. Alec Thomas joined us as the National Head of Geospatial, and Simon Tarr became a Partner in the Energy team in Bristol. In June, Lucy Sayer joined us as a Partner in Infrastructure Consents. These appointments demonstrate our ambition to expand our influence in the markets we serve and to remain at the forefront of industry advancements, for the benefit of our clients.

We have also taken several opportunities to recognise the talent, knowledge, and expertise within our business through a number of well-deserved promotions. Recently, we celebrated several colleagues reaching various partnership stages, including Katy Davis, who has been appointed as an Equity Partner in our London Planning and Development team. Katy is a chartered planning and development surveyor. Having joined Carter Jonas in 2014, Katy became a member of the Planning and Development Board in 2020. Additionally, four others were appointed to Group Partner and 14 to Salaried Partner in acknowledgement of their valuable contributions. Additionally, this month, we announced that more than 70 individuals from across our business received promotions, a testament to their hard work, dedication, proven skills, competencies, and adherence to our values.

Summer internship programme 2025

June saw us host our summer internship programme with 25 interns joining us for four weeks across our five divisions.

It was a busy month of project work, client meetings, site visits, virtual presentations and lots of valuable hands on experience. In addition our interns have been able to enjoy socials such as BBQs, sports days and cricket matches as well as gain valuable networking opportunities with industry professionals.

Want to be part of our 2026 programme? Applications will be going live at the end of the year…keep your eyes peeled!

APC Graduates

Looking ahead to September, we will be joined by 29 new graduates who will begin their APC journey with us to become A Chartered Planner or Surveyor.

We are excited to welcome our new graduates and look forward to seeing them officially start their property careers at Carter Jonas.

Interview with Richard Fairey, Rural Graduate Surveyor, Oxford

I went to Exeter University and studied English Literature for my bachelor’s degree, I then realised I wanted to go into property and went to Harper Adams from which I graduated with a master’s degree in Rural Estate Land Management in August 2024. I then joined Carter Jonas in September 2024.

I help to manage estates and portfolios of land largely entering around Buckinghamshire. I aid in carrying out valuations of different types and scale of property.

My favourite project to work on has been carrying out biannual valuations of Blenheim estate’s residential portfolio.

Varied, friendly and exciting

The key skills I think that are required are communication, organisation, and the ability to self-manage. Also, to work effectively as a team-player in order to achieve goals and objectives that you wouldn't necessarily be able to otherwise.

Reach out to friends and family who either work in, or know about the sector so you can gather a better understanding of the job, and so you can excel in your interview.
