The Blenheim Palace Sawmills in Oxfordshire has picked up The Ice Energy Environmental Award for Property and Construction at the Oxfordshire Business Awards, strengthening its credentials as one of the ‘greenest’ commercial developments in the county.
Roger File of Blenheim Estates comments: “The Blenheim Palace Sawmills follows on from our award-winning development The Cowyards, continuing our commitment to sensitive restoration of traditional buildings to create modern accommodation with character. Our investment in sustainable technology and materials lowers not only the development’s carbon footprint but also the running costs for occupiers.”
Interest in The Blenheim Palace Sawmills site is running high as the site is now ready for occupation. This unique development from Blenheim Estates is a selection of energy efficient, modern business suites created from the sensitive regeneration of traditional rural space. There are nine office and business units, totalling nearly 20,000 sq ft accommodation, combining converted brick and stone buildings with new construction. The Site, its aesthetics, low running costs and tranquil location all make The Blenheim Palace Sawmills a highly desirable address for any business. As a result, two units are already let and three more are reserved; Carter Jonas' Oxford office, which is marketing the units, is getting a continual flow of enquiries.
The high energy efficiency at The Blenheim Palace Sawmills is derived from the installation of ground source heat pumps which use solar energy naturally stored in the ground to run heating, comfort cooling and hot water systems. This combines with heavy insulation of the brick and timber buildings to maximise energy conservation.
Scott Harkness, a Partner of Carter Jonas, adds: “The Blenheim Palace Sawmills is an address that brings benefit in itself. The period character of the buildings, their fantastic setting and accessibility to Witney, Woodstock, Kidlington and Oxford, makes this location attractive to employees and clients alike, and the low energy costs will benefit any balance sheet.”
Blenheim Sawmills is available for viewing now.
