London, 20 May 2014, Yorkshire food producers, tasked with keeping the wheels of what promises to be the biggest ‘sweatworking’ event turning this summer, have been finalising the high-energy menu that will be served on the day.
Heck Food sausages, Yorkshire Provender soup, Exquisite Handmade Cakes, Brymor Ice Cream and Black Sheep Brewery are just some of the Yorkshire companies who will be helping to refuel 300 cyclists taking part in the Carter Jonas Yorkshire Pedalthon networking event on Thursday 22 May 2014.
Riders, who will be raising money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and public transport charity Sustrans, will find healthy and high-energy snacks at Masham, with a second feed station at Kidstones Pass for those completing the longer of the two routes.
A much deserved hogroast - as well as vegetarian options and refreshments - will welcome riders upon completion of the event at Ripley Castle.
Riders taking part in the Yorkshire Post-backed event have the choice to complete either the 80 mile Yorkshire Challenge or the 40 mile Yorkshire Scenic route.
Both circular routes will start and finish at Ripley Castle in North Yorkshire, and pass through the market town of Masham.
The Yorkshire Challenge riders will tackle several blistering hills, including the thigh-burning Kidstones Pass that will see them climb 6,000ft in total.
The Yorkshire Pedalthon, which has been planned by sporting event organiser Breathingspace Live, is sponsored by Yorkshire-based Berwins Solicitors, chartered building surveyors Crowther Turnbull Booth and wind turbine specialists Earthmill.
Entry is open to both individuals and corporate teams, and costs £150 per person or £500 for a team of four.
