28 November 2014 , Carter Jonas last night celebrated its first anniversary at One Chapel Place, W1, with a sale of ‘limited editions and one-offs’ in aid of Art for Youth, a fundraising initiative of charity UK Youth (www.ukyouth.org).
One at One (‘one year at One Chapel Place’) featured the work of five award-winning artists, all linked to Art for Youth through previous support. Artists included painters Ann Hawksley, Soraya French and Lucy Ash, sculptor Dee Stanford and etcher Karen Keogh. The collection of nineteen works included colourful paintings and etchings depicting city scenes and bold wooden and metal sculptures.
A proportion of the money raised from the sale of the art works went towards funding projects run by UK Youth that help young people develop the practical skills necessary to receive training and ongoing employment.
Ann Mavroleon MBE, Art for Youth, London, said: ‘Carter Jonas kindly transformed their fantastic space into a gallery, showcasing this superb work from our supporting artists. The money raised will fund projects to help young people in the UK confront and overcome some of life’s most challenging issues.”
Mark Granger chief executive, Carter Jonas said: “It was a great pleasure to celebrate our first year at One Chapel Place with such a strong focus on raising awareness, and funds, for this very important cause.”
In November last year the national property consultancy relocated to its West End headquarters, increasing its national profile and exposure to markets inside and out of the Capital, in order to accommodate the business' planned growth.
Mark Granger said: “From a company with a turnover of £15million in 2009, we are now a multi-disciplinary property partnership with a turnover of £40million and this year has been an outstanding year for us. Over the last twelve months our London headcount has more than doubled. We’ve acquired Barnes based estate agency Boileaus and commercial agency specialists Whittingham Prosser, plus our brand has been refreshed to reflect our strategic evolution.”
“I am delighted to say that it is our dedication to our clients and by association the investment we have made in our people that has made the past year so successful. Furthermore, One at One and our support for Art for Youth has enabled us to proudly cement our national commitment to corporate social responsibility.
