The Carter Jonas Development team announces the sale of a significant development site near the centre of Banbury. The cleared site, which was formerly a sheltered housing development (now demolished) of just under an acre in size, has been sold to Christian nursing home Green Pastures for the construction of a new care home.
Alexander Nell, Development Surveyor for Carter Jonas, who managed the deal on behalf of the vendor, says: “Due to the site’s location, it is particularly suitable for residential development and generated a large number of offers from both residential and care home developers. Our client was pleased to achieve best value and particularly to see the site go to a charity, especially because the vendor is a national charitable organisation”.
“It is very satisfying for us when we find the right site for a local organisation, especially when they have been searching for a long time. Green Pastures, whose Nursing Home has been in nearby Oxford Road for nearly twenty years, have looked long and hard for a site nearby. We are delighted that they have found the right site through us and can now move on with their future plans.”
Green Pastures Christian Nursing Home takes care of 30 elderly residents in its current home. Purchasing the new site enables them to build a larger facility that will provide quality care for more residents with a wider range of needs.
John Langridge, manager of Green Pastures Nursing Home, says: “It is clear that with an ageing population, the demand for good quality nursing care will only increase over the coming decades. Our existing home is already full and has a waiting list, so we are very pleased to now be able to build a larger home that is better equipped for future demand, and for a wider range of specialist needs.
